Frequently Asked Questions About COVID-19

To mask or not to mask?

Staff at Baubly Medical are generally able to identify spikes in COVID-19 in the area. prior to news reports, due to an increase of patient cases. To keep all patients safe, we request you wear a mask to your appointment when COVID is peaking. Baubly Medical will post a notice at the door when masks are required and will have masks available at the front desk. We appreciate your cooperation,

Should I get tested if I have symptoms or if I was exposed?

Absolutely! We cannot treat COVID-19 symptoms without a positive COVID test result. In order to properly treat your symptoms, we need to be able to distinguish COVID from flu or other upper-respiratory diseases. Right now, home tests are the standard for diagnosing COVID-19. However, there is a high false negative (A negative test even if you do have COVID) rate with a single test. Baubly Medical recommends 3 successive COVID tests taken 12-24 hours apart each.

What should I do if I tested positive?

If you test positive, treatment is available, but must be started within 5 days of symptom onset. Treatment can both shorten the time which you are sick and reduce the severity of symptoms. However, there are two significant side effects we have observed: rebound COVID and/or diarrhea.

Do you recommend getting the COVID-19 vaccine and boosters?

How long should I quarantine if I tested positive or if I was exposed?

The most up to date recommendations regarding quarantine are available on the CDC website. Dr. Baubly recommends you isolate for 5 days since symptoms begin. On day 6, you may go outside sparingly with a mask on. You may remove your mask if you are fever free for 24 hours after 10 days.

Where should we get the vaccine?
